Here are a few recommendations to make your wedding day go smoothly. If you have additional suggestions we would welcome them. Suggest a tip

—One of the biggest mistakes wedding couples can make is to get talked into a party the night before the big day. There can be enormous pressure from your friends and family to do this, the usual reason being that people are visiting from out of town. Sometimes they will propose a last minute shower or stag party. Resist! Weddings are tiring, and it really helps to be rested when you start.

Your role at your reception is to be host and hostess to your party. Mingle, and introduce people to each other who haven't met. Everyone looks to you as the most special people there, and will be disappointed if they don't get to at least say hello to you. You may be the only people there that they know, so you want to make them feel comfortable.

Another problem can arise when opening your gifts. Make sure you are organized about it. Have someone help you by keeping a list, or else write down the type of present right on the card. It is all too easy to end up with cards separated from gifts and no idea who gave you the gifts. That makes it hard to write thank you letters later.
