Couples Class for Marriage Preparation

Today in the United States 1 marriage out of 2 ends in divorce, often within the first 5 years. Yet most engaged couples spend far more time preparing for the 1 day of their wedding than they do for a lifetime of marriage. Our classes make a difference. Topics include:

•	Premarital Inventory
•	Open discussions
•	Roles, responsibilities and expectations
•	Communication and conflict management skills
•	Finances
•	Families and friends
•	Goals

As seen in Minnesota Bride magazine. Open discussions in a relaxed atmosphere. The class is about improving your communication skills as a couple. If possible, begin this class 6 months before your wedding. Taught by PREPARE/ENRICH* Counselor. At the end of the PREPARE class you will receive a certificate of completion. If you present the certificate when you apply for your Minnesota marriage license, you will save $65.00 on the cost of the license. Cost of class includes PREPARE profile scoring. Beverages and food will be available for purchase during class. During weekend classes we will go out to lunch as a class. Register for only 1 session(A, B, C, D, or I, II, III, IV). Each session fulfills the state requrement. Cost: $230 per couple. Pre-registration is required. Full payment due 1 week prior to start of class. Credit cards through PayPal and checks accepted. Please feel free to participate in our marriage preparation classes even if you are not being married by us, if you have not yet become engaged but are seriously considering it, or if you were recently married without the benefit of premarital classes. *Several studies both here in the US and in Germany show that certain types of marriage preparation classes--those that teach skills --do lower the divorce rate at the five year mark. One study showed that couples who took one such course called PREPARE reduced the divorce rate by thirty per cent. In another study, different types of classes were rated for effectiveness. Again, the skill based programs were deemed more effective than faith-based programs.
